A PLACE FOR KINDRED MINDS

Hiding is not erasing.

Understand the difference between removing a contribution from view, deleting an account and addressing retained copies.

Updated 30 October 2026

Hide a contribution

The contribution’s Delete button hides it from the live forum. Hiding a post also hides its replies. The immediate Undo option restores visibility.

This action does not erase the stored record. Hidden contributions remain stored for recovery until account deletion or an approved erasure request. Editing replaces the contribution’s current text and updates its integrity receipt; it does not remove copies already held elsewhere.

Delete your account

Use Account settings → Delete my account to request the permanent account-deletion operation. It removes active account data and uploaded account files, including your posts and replies, messages sent or received, profile and account content.

Forums you own and their discussions are also removed by the current account-deletion process. This can affect other members’ contributions in those forums. Contact the Hub before deleting if you need to discuss a forum you own.

Permanent account deletion is different from hiding an individual post and does not offer the same immediate Undo.

Email, provider logs and backups

Account deletion does not recall emails already delivered to an inbox. Support email, provider logs and private recovery backups can contain copies outside the active account.

The Hub keeps private recovery backups. A previous snapshot can retain data removed from the live service. There is not yet a published automatic backup-expiry schedule, so we cannot promise immediate erasure from every historical copy.

For a specific erasure request, contact the Hub and ask which copies are affected, what can be erased and what retention limits apply. Backup retention and handling of deleted records during recovery need to be addressed as part of that request.

Request access, correction or erasure

Email admin@auroraethica.org and describe the information or contribution concerned. Include a contribution reference where available. Avoid sending passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.

There is currently no automatic expiry schedule for forum content, private messages or saved reports. Requests about particular records and copies outside the active service are handled manually.
